The top left picture depicts my witche's lair greeting room. This is where Uncle Pots greets his customers. Mr. Punkin head, the farmer down the road, Mr. and Mrs. Skel Eton have come to find out if they have any graves to dig. Ms. Gretchen, the city gothic girl, is Mr. Pots neice. She is throwing a Hallow's Eve party and has asked Uncle Pots to congure up some "refreshments" for her party. She is hoping for a Goulish good time.
Upstairs the Skel Eton kids are raising havoc with Mr. Gastly Gost and his pet bats. I am sure there will be some kind of reprocutions to their actions soon.
This is the complete upstairs and downstairs in one double room box. It has taken 2 years to complete and all is done in 1 inch scale. I hope you enjoy as I had fun creating it. Happy Halloween......
This doll I created with the use of material from the online minidolllist group. The owner, Dana, sends each volunteer material and every one makes whatever they desire. The material I used is the orange silk made into the Tudor style overdress. I cannot wait to see what the other women make with their material. This costume has a green underdress, and a soft velour sleeveless cloak trimmed in matching silk ribbon. Her hair is in a braid also tied with the silk ribbon. She was a joy to make. I hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoyed making her....
A little bit of Goth for the month of October is always nice. She has a very form fitting gothic dress with white lace on the bodice. The sleeves have that long over large cuffed look. The hair is long and straight. She has that deep red lipstick and black eyes and nail polish. I hope you enjoy her.
This is my belly dancer that was done for my online minidoll group. She was such fun to make and has lots of rolls to shake. This doll is originally the Mrs. Santa mold....can't you see Santa now....Mrs. Santa dressed like this? Nice surprise for his birthday.
I haven't written in a while...just being lazy I guess. I did finish a lovely doll kit that I bought from Dana Burton (minidolllist). She called it the Goddess kit, but I made it into an angel....Guess you would call it kit bashing. Dana's doll was lovely and I added the lace to the material that was received in the kit. I took a couple of different kinds of viscose, melded them together in my pleater and smoshed it on her head for a lovely "Do". I then added lots of no hole beads to her bodice and around the bottom of the skirt where the lace is attached. She was a lot of fun. Now I have a few more dolls to wig and I will be adding them to my blog.....Until then....happy blogging..
I have been taking bobbin lace lessons for a while now and this is my latest project. It is by far the most difficult to do although the weaving of the bobbins is very simple. I just keep losing my place and have to wait for the next week for my instructor to help me out. Her name is Ingrid and is very wonderful to work with. She is from Belgium so I am getting the lessons from the right person. We met through Church and hit it off almost instantly. She is very crafty with needle work. She can do anything in the realm of thread and material. She made the pillow for my bobbin lace. I will send another picture once the project is finished. I have done some string lace as well. It is very pretty and not difficult to do at all. Just another project for me to do while I keep procrastinating not to do my housework......and while Don is watching football this fall. Today my husband and I took a lovely ride to Warm Springs, Georgia. I love to go for rides into the country and find new and different things to incorporate into my miniature life. Today we found history and a house, two of my favorite interests. We visited our 32nd President's, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Little White House in Warm Springs, Ga. Warm Springs is where he came to relax and receive therapy in the 88 degree water of the springs for his polio inflicted legs. The town itself was very quaint, lots of little gift shops, antique stores, restaraunts, and people. We toured only the Roosevelt museum and house this trip, but I told my husband next time I am going to take the time to visit the shops. Of coarse he just laughed. On our way back I reflected on the "Little White House" and how sparsley it was decorated. In most of my historical house tours, I have noticed the same theme throughout. A place for everything and everything in its place. My poor houses are so jam packed full of stuff. I am an ecclectic compulsive buyer and have decided that I do need to tone my compulsive behavior of buying anything mini down to themes, or timeframes. On another note, I would love to make a doll of the late 30's or 40's era. Not an Eleanor, but a younger, more vivacious lady of the time. I also want to find a Fala, FDR's little Scotty dog. I tried to find one at the gift shop, but no luck. All in all, it was a wonderful day spent with my husband, enjoying a bit of history together, and being very grateful one is alive to enjoy life.
